CrossFit is evidence based which means everything must be observable, measurable, and repeatable. In order to have a broad, general and inclusive workout regimen that can be quantified, fitness needed a definition that would hold up to scientific rigor. Fitness is defined as increased work capacity across broad time and modal domains. This allows us to actually see and conclude someone is fitter by tracking their progress. Every squat, run, metcon, lift….everything is recorded and can be referenced at any time during your membership at Cloud 9 CrossFit. The short definition of CrossFit would be constantly varied, functional movement, at a high intensity.
Our programming method is simple…Expect the unexpected. Just as any police officer, fire fighter, or even soccer mom can attest that there’s always something they were unprepared for and had to react. Our bodies didn’t evolve from routine. Some workouts may take a few minutes and others may take 45 minutes which we mix and match 10 general physical skills. These include Cardiovascular Endurance, Stamina, Strength, Flexibility, Power, Speed, Coordination, Agility, Balance, Accuracy. The only thing consistent in CrossFit is hard work and unrivaled results.
The human body is an incredible piece of equipment that was meant to run, jump, climb, swim, pull, push, press, squat, etc…These are all movements that are functional and none of us can go our day without doing on some capacity. Functional movements are coded in our DNA and are compound, natural, and safe. It’s the body’s way of efficiently expressing power. We aspire towards virtuosity in movement
If you could go back to 8th grade science class. Work=Force x Distance. By this equation, the same amount of work is completed in sprinting a mile or walking a mile…However, there’s a completely different metabolic response, and reaction from the body. It’s not until we add the variable of TIME that this equation becomes Intensity= (Force x Distance)/Time. Simply put, we are often working against the clock trying to move more weight, longer distances, faster.

If you’re looking to become stronger, more explosive, or looking to compete in weightlifting WCBC is where the average become elite. These movements are very technical and can take a great deal of coaching. Athletes will learn from some of Warren County’s top coaches with diverse credentials in experienced training and competitive backgrounds. If new to Olympic Weightlifting, you will be put through and extensive foundations program to develop the necessary skills that will transfer to the lifts.

We operate in almost all hours of the day and will do our best to accommodate your schedule. We test, track, record, and retest everything you do to ensure progress and seek out opportunities to develop your fitness. Whether you’re looking to tune up, lose weight, or any specific goal, we’ll be more than willing to sit down and design a program tailored for you.
